The 12th meeting of the Standing Committee of Central Zonal Council: The 12th meeting of the Standing Committee of Central Zonal Council was held at New Delhi on 4th August, 2016 under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Government of Madhya Pradesh. Secretary, Inter State Council Secretariat, Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs and other senior officers of concerned Ministries/Departments of Government of India and the member States participated in the meeting.
The standing Committee scrutinized the issues sponsored by the State Governments and Union Ministries for the next meeting of the Central Zonal Council. It also deliberated on the actions taken on the recommendations made in the previous meeting of the Central Zonal Council held at Lucknow on 19.1.2015 and recommended for speedy disposal of pending matters. The issues discussed in the meeting included Deposit of entire Custom Milled Rice (CMR) in Central Pool under PSS, Upgradation of pota cabins in the Secondary Schools with Hostel facilties, development of international airports in the States, Commencement of Air Taxi services in Chhattisgarh, provision of better connectivity, inclusion of new offices for CCTNS, issues related to School Education in the States, waiver of condition of charging a certain percentage of total project cost on linear projects passing through Protected Areas, allocation of fund for relocation of villages outside Protected Areas, Insulation of Power lines in forest areas, issues relating to Social Security Schemes of Government of India, Construction of a Multi-modal Inland Waterways Transport Terminal on NW-1 at Varanasi, unutilised lands lying in the States for prospective MSME entrepreneurs, Multi-Sectoral Development Programme etc.
